We have established a sensory room for some children to make use of.

A sensory room is a room which combines a range of stimuli to help individuals develop and engage their senses. These can include lights, colours, sounds, soft play objects and aromas all within a safe environment that allows the person using it to explore and interact without risk.

At Chingford Hall our sensory room currently has lights, colours and music, sensory objects and soft play, as well as bean bags, cushions and mats.

Our children (and some adults!) are enjoying using it; it gives them opportunities for calming and focussing whilst engaging their senses.

We hope that these pictures give an idea of what the sensory room is like at the moment. As time goes on, we would like to develop the room with more equipment.
